Mohanlal to play a sexagenarian too in Odiyan

The first look of Mohanlal's character in Odiyan was released online on Monday, featuring the star in a young get-up. However, that will not be the only look of the actor in the film.

The movie's director VA Shrikumar tells us that Mohanlal will be seen in several appearances in the film, which also has Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj. "Lal plays a character named Odiyan Manikyan from the age of 30 to 65. He will have a complete makeover. It will also be a physically challenging role for him."

Further on the character, the director says, "Manikyan is considered the greatest Odiyan that ever lived. He has mastered the skills that have been passed down by his forefathers of the clan."

The team is planning to start the shoot of the movie by mid August in Palakkad. "We did an extensive research for the film, which has both realism and fantasy. It will shatter the perceptions about the Odiyan tribe and what they did. We will be shooting in locations such as Khasak, Kollengode, Alathur, Nemmara and Pollachi, where it is believed that Odiyans lived," informs Shrikumar, adding that the movie will also have a schedule in Varanasi.
